Module 1 – Workplace Safety

  1. Know the law (2005 Safety, Health & Welfare at work act and 2007 Safety, Health & Welfare at work (general applications & regulations)

Module 2 – Hazards to look for

  1. Managing Health & Safety
  2. General overview of the types of hazards experienced in the general workplace and the measures to undertake to reduce risk from these hazards

Module 3 – Organising for safety

  1. Safe systems
  2. Protective clothing and equipment
  3. Accidents and emergencies

Training approach
The course involves a lecture (utilising verbal, PowerPoint and video presentations), and a classroom question and answers session.

Assessment and certification
Assessment is based on the participation of attendees in both the theoretical and practical modules of the course. A certificate attesting to the attendees’ participation in and attendance of the course is issued.
