This course is designed for people who wish to assist in the event of an emergency or for businesses who wish to have a back-up plan for their full-time occupational first aiders. The course is ideal for smaller workplaces that present few health & safety risks and where the chosen individual is required to take charge in the event of illness or accident.

Programme objectives
The course will give candidates an outline of what is required with regard to emergency care and inform them of their duties and responsibilities with regard to first aid equipment. Those who are the chosen individuals, those who provide support to Occupational First Aiders or people who are interested in developing their First Aid Skills.

Training approach
The course involves lectures (utilising verbal, practical, PowerPoint and video presentations), classroom question and answers sessions and sample first aid scenarios.
Assessment and certification
Assessment is based on the participation of attendees in practical demonstration of CPR skills, AED usage and first aid skills selected from the course content as well as a written question paper.
